In 2005, an agreement was signed between Agropolis International and ACTA, a network of agricultural technical institutes (Instituts Techniques Agricoles). The main objective is to promote relations between agricultural technical institutes and research and higher education institutes members of Agropolis International especially those involved in the Mediterranean area.

 

Under this agreement ACTA assigns a regional representative at Agropolis International with the following missions:

• To coordinate activities and information dissemination between regional ITAs (edition of a periodical information letter)
• To identify cross or innovative issues related to ITAs fields of interests
• To contribute to the elaboration of joint projects between ITAs and with research institutes through ‘Unités Mixtes Technologiques’ - UMT : joint technical units associating a technical institute and a research or higher education institute, ’Réseaux Mixtes Technologiques‘ - RMT or through the ‘PSDR’ (Program on and for regional development)
• To favour the involvement of ITAs in the European research area and in research projects
• To promote ITAs expertise at international level and the implementation of collaborative programs .
