1st meeting of IPBES expert group for the assessment of the sustainable use of wild species

Date : December 03, 2018 to December 07, 2018
Location : Agropolis International, Montpellier

The Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) is an independent body in charge of the assessment of the status and trends of biodiversity in the world, with the aim to inform decision and policy-making for its conservation and sustainable use. It has a role fairly similar to what IPCC does on climate change. An international expert group newly nominated will work on the issue of the sustainable use of wild species in the next three years. The French Foundation for Research on Biodiversity (FRB) and IPBES organise their first meeting in Agropolis International . The work of the group is confidential. It will aim to develop a common understanding of the topic and build a zero order draft of the assessment report, due 2021. Learn more: https://
