Agropolis International scientific community participates to the reform process of the National Advanced School of Agronomy of Algiers (Algeria)
ENSA is the only school in Algeria, outside of the university system, dedicated to the training of agronomists. It carries out activities linked to higher education, scientific research and technology development in the fields related to agriculture and agro-food.
Objectives of the project
The aim of ENSA's reform is to reach international excellence standard regarding research and training of senior experts, which requires to adapt the school development to new strategic orientations and to build new international, national and local partnerships in order to better contribute to Algeria's challenges in terms of food security and sustainable rural land management.
The framework agreement between ENSA and Agropolis International, elaborated in order to accompany the current ENSA's reform process, has been signed on April 2011. It concerns the following themes:
- rehabilitation and building of tropical greenhouses
- training engineering
- research engineering
- creation of a national cluster on agriculture
Up to now, Agropolis International member institutes involved are the following: AgroParisTech Montpellier, IRSTEA, CIRAD, CIHEAM-IAM.M, ICRA, IRD, Montpellier SupAgro and University Montpellier 2.
