Feeding the Planet - A European World Class Cluster (WCC) – An exploratory mission to the USA
To enhance the European exposure: organization of an exploratory mission to the USA to develop partnerships in agriculture, agro-food and agro-biotechnologies
After the visits which took place in India and Brazil, an exploratory mission is planned at the beginning of September to the USA , in 3 different towns -New-York, Chicago, Sacramento/Davis- within the framework of the European project "Feeding the planet - European Bio Food Clusters on the World Stage" (2012-2014).
The aim is to gain thorough knowledge of the American innovation system in order to build partnerships related to agro-food, agro-biotechnologies and environmental issues.
This project, in which Agropolis International Association is involved, is funded by UE DG Enterprise & Industry and aims at developing sustainable relationships “cluster to cluster” on the world stage.
The European consortium whose objective is to develop collaborations related to research, training, technological innovation and commercial opportunities with clusters in Brazil, Chile, the USA and India also gathers clusters in Milano (Parco Tecnologico Padano) and Wageningen (East Netherlands Development Agency and the Food Valley). The coordinator of the project is the Lombardy Region.
In the Languedoc-Roussillon region, Agropolis International mobilizes innovation partners including Qualiméditerranée competitiveness cluster, Montpellier SupAgro, Agglomération de Montpellier.
Invest Sud de France is part of the French delegation together with Agropolis International for the mission to USA.
