European Network for integrating novel technologies for food processing (HighTech Europe project 2009-2013)
The High-Tech Europe project ’European Network for integrating novel technologies for food processing’ aims to establish a network of excellence (22 partners in 10 countries).
The funding of this project was approved in 2008.
The German Institute of food technologies, in Quakenbrück, is the coordinator of the project.
Agropolis International, the UMR IATE and the competitiveness cluster Qualiméditerranée are the 3 French partners of the project.
Agropolis International is involved in many work packages and manages a budget of 170K €.
Main objectives of the project:
- to identify strategic (available or forthcoming) scientific knowledge, regarding to its innovative potential for the agro-food industry
- to establish a European Institute for Food Processing (EU-IFP). This will develop the durable links between R&D, industry and consumers.
- through the EU-IFP activities, to improve the European agro-food enterprises (from main firms to SME’s) competitiveness on the international market.
