This committee has been created in 1997 by the ministerial departments in charge of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Ministry of Ecology and Sustainable Development, Ministry for Higher Education and Ministry of Research).

The European Society for Agronomy (ESA) is a scientific society created in 1990 with the aim of promoting the science of Agronomy and its use in agriculture and rural development across Europe

- Delegations and visitors welcome network: gathers the persons in charge of this issue in the member institutions
