Abstract

The origin, structure and operation of the ancient Nile water system are not well known. The term irrigation is not enough to describe ancient hydraulic and agriculture. It is better to use expressions like controlled submersion and flood cultures… We must distinguish the historical period within a technique appears, and the moment of its expansion.
